My cousin Dave from Iowa just sent me this pic of my grandfather (far right) and his brothers in 1921. The big bruiser second from the left looks just like my dad and his brother Blaine.
I went to law school in Iowa City, and I have been to Council Bluffs for a wedding!
When I went to Council Bluffs I think the movie Election was filmed around that area for I LAUGHED so hard at Von Maur references. Von Maur was my hang out in addition to Walmart! The 2 stores that kept me sane! That is how I could relate to the movie so much and just growing pains in general!
Wow, small world! I was in Iowa for 3 years. I would drive over to Cedar Rapids to just fly out of the state but I stayed in Iowa City with NO social life =(. But that was because I was in law school. I know Ashton Kutcher was discovered at the local bar the Airliner where I used to hang out sometimes with some of my classmates!
