I'll never complain about feeling old after seeing Young @ Heart. It's hilarious, raucous, inspiring and heartbreakingly sad all at the same time. I laughed so hard and cried quite a bit, along with my two friends. The members of Young @ Heart are all over 70, and they put their own spin on songs by Sonic Youth, the Clash, James Brown, Coldplay, and more. Go see this film, you'll love it!
Read all about it on my other blog.
Some of you may know that I work for Six Apart, makers of Vox, TypePad, and Movable Type. For the last two years, I've worked on Vox and absolutely loved it. Right now, I'm working on TypePad. I was hoping to get some support from my fabulous Vox peeps. Would you please take a second and vote for TypePad?
Many thanks!
This morning there must have been some type of big sporting event at the Oakland Coliseum. A group of frat boy types get on and sit near me. One is carrying a 12 pack of Bud Light at 11am. They commence to stink up the train with their Burger King hamburgers and fries. One jackass is wearing a crown that they give to small children at BK. They start to have relatively intelligent conversations about sports, then the conversation takes a downward spiral into the dregs of drunken frat boy discourse.
Dude 1: "I think I peed my bed like 30 times my freshman year."
Dude 2: "Dude, so did you have a drinking problem or a bedwetting problem?"
Dude 1: "A drinking problem. But the funny thing was that I had a king size bed, so I'd just sleep on the other side until I peed on that side too."
