Recently I told Ray that when we get old, that I want a dog! Since we work full-time and have our wedding photography business, there's no way that we could have a dog right now. Plus our loft gets really hot in the afternoon, so it would be cruel to keep a sweet little dog cooped up in our place.
But when the time is right, I'd love to have either a pug or a chihuahua:

First of all I wanted to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and moms-to-be on Vox! Hopefully you're having a fantastic day and doing something special.
Also, I'd like to thank my mom for being such a great mom who sacrificed so much for us and always did her best to make us happy.
My mother left Chile and arrived here in the Bay Area in the 60s. She couldn't speak a word of English, and didn't even finish grade school. She's a smart cookie, so she enrolled in adult school and took English classes and went to beauty school. She worked as a hair stylist for many years, then met and married my dad. She was a stay-at-home mom until I was 16 when she returned to work as a hair stylist. She's retired now, and living alone now that my dad passed away. I think I inherited my creativity from her--she's chronicled my family's life with photography and has an amazing green thumb. She's a character and brutally honest at time, but that's another reason why I love her!

How about the tiny residents of Selby? These itsy-bitsy folks reside in the elaborate permanent display of toy trains and sets at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA. Shot the same day as my fair pics.

We almost didn't get to celebrate New Year's Eve at Anon Salon's Sea of Dreams last night. We had waited too long to buy tickets and they were sold out at all the SF ticket outlets. However, Ray saved NYE by scoring tickets for us. I truly have the best husband in the world who went out of his way to get tickets so that we'd have a nice night. Ray and I were joined by my good friend Bob who has shared many new years with us.
The String Cheese Incident headlined, therefore the hippie kids and dirtheads were out in force. This might have been one of the best Sea of Dreams so far -- all of the environments were so visually appealling and interesting, people were friendly and mellow, lots of people wore their best cosmic costume finery, and we saw many great performances including Circularious! and Zap Mama.
